HOUSTON HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI ASSOCIATION MEETING

August 22, 2011 7:00 P.M.

Meeting called to order by Alumni President, Roger Holder. Those present included: Roger Holder, Norman Epperson, Terry Holder, Sharon Holder, Rowena Moore, Lana Bucher, Linda Hall, Pat Henderson, Sandra Craven, Terry Flowers and Jay Frost.

Minutes of the June 27, 2011 meeting were presented. Motion was made by Norman Epperson, seconded by Linda Hall to approve minutes. Motion passed.

Treasurer's report was presented. Motion was made by Jay Frost, seconded by Terry Flowers to approve treasurer's report. Motion passed.

Old Business:

Callie Manier will contact the Houston High School Guidance Counselor to have name changed on the forms for the Alumni Scholarships from Sidney Ann Bridges to Callie Manier.

Roger Holder read thank you notes from Michael Castleman and Kaitlyn Kell. Roger Holder read several letters and comments from Alumni concerning the newsletter and last years mixer.

Terry Flowers and Lana Bucher will collect newspapers articles for next years Alumni Newsletter.

New Business:

Chester Herndon had contacted Roger Holder about the possibility of two newsletters for next year.

Alumni Committees for 2011 Alumni Mixer:
  • Food — Sandra Manier, Sandra Craven
  • Decorations — Linda Hall, Pat Henderson, Sandra Manier, Sandra Craven
  • Program — Roger Holder
  • Float — Callie Manier
  • Money Jar — Kay Honeycutt
  • Breakfast at Senior Citizens — Bob Bryson
Mixer will be held from 1:00 p.m. — 5:00 p.m. with the welcome from President Holder at 3:00 p.m. recognizing classes ending in 1's and 6's. There will be a box for comment cards.

Motion was made by Jay Frost to accept all committees, seconded by Norman Epperson. Motion carried.

Next meeting will be September 26, 2011 at the United Methodist Church.

Motion to adjourn by Norman Epperson.
