April 23, 2012 — 7:00 P.M.

Meeting called to order by Alumni President, Roger Holder with a tribute to Paul Ice. Those present included: Roger Holder, Norman Epperson, Lana Bucher, Kay Honeycutt, Sandra Craven, Sandra Manier, Terry Holder, Sharon Holder, Rowena Moore, Bob Bryson, Jimmilee Prouty, Carol Freeman, Terry Flowers, Jay Frost and Callie Manier.

Minutes of the March 26, 2012 meeting were presented. Motion was made by Terry Flowers, seconded by Norman Epperson to approve minutes. Motion passed.

Treasurer's report was presented. Motion was made by Terry Flowers, seconded by Norman Epperson to approve treasurer's report. Motion passed.

Old Business:

There were eleven applications for the Alumni Scholarships this year. The following are the chosen applicants:

  • Collins Scholarship —— Kaitlyn Neal
  • HHS Alumni Scholarship —— Toni Dukes
  • HHS Alumni Scholarship —— Nikki Newsome

  • First Alternate —— Haylee Kell
  • Second Alternate —— Rodney Preheim
  • Third Alternate —— Taylor Korte

  • Class of 1964 Scholarship —— Charlene Bever
     • Alternate —— Tori Dukes

Discussion of the newsletter that needs to be completed by the first week of June.

Jimmilee Prouty, presented a copy of the officer's job descriptions to be reviewed and talked about at the next meeting.

A motion was made by Sandra Manier to set the time for the Alumni Mixer to be held from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., seconded by Norman Epperson. Motion carried.

New Business:

Kay Honeycutt is preparing the 503C form to renew the not-for-profit corporation status for the Houston Alumni Association.

A motion was made by Terry Holder for the Alumni Association to pay for the cost of the re-newal of the not-for-profit status, seconded by Jimmilee Prouty. Motion carried.

A Thank You card from Rita Ice and family was read.

The next meeting with be held on May 21, 2012 at the United Methodist Church.

A motion was made by Norman Epperson to adjourn.
